The Broadband Media Exchange (known as the BMEX for short) is a Bristol based, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing innovative network-based services to one of the most significant media industries outside London.
BMEX offers a tool for effective collaboration, offering producers, service providers and others a simple, fast, reliable and cost effective way to share data. In an increasingly digital industry, BMEX has the capacity to support a huge range of services: from simple file transfer to Voice over IP and video conferencing, to utility provision, training, software and off-site back-up.
Bi-directional, symmetric, high speed, secure and reliable; BMEX is a unique and ground breaking metropolitan area network. With the core housed at the Netsight Metropolitan Colocation Centre in Bristol, BMEX utilises Ethernet and LAN Extension (LES) services to connect media businesses and other organisations in the region.
There are obvious comparisons to London's Sohonet, but BMEX is the only media network you can also link into from a normal internet connection, and also offers a combination of services that cannot be sourced elsewhere.
