Films at 59 offers pre- and post-production services to the film and television industry, ranging from equipment hire, crewing, picture and audio editing, to programme finishing and broadcaster delivery.
BMEX provides the high speed internet connectivity that Films at 59 requires to offer an approvals service, allowing clients with tight deadlines to review media footage using the internet, from wherever they are in the world. Last year alone, over 100 programmes handled by the company made use of this service, which would not have been possible with the contended and asymmetric service offered by a normal broadband supplier
Films at 59 is currently trialing the use of streaming content in real time from edit suites, sound suites and finishing suites. This technology will allow clients to monitor the progress of their programmes and make key editorial decisions, away from the physical constraints of having to be in the editing suite.
In the future, Films at 59 envisage BMEX members working together to streamline the digital media production chain from raw footage to graphic sequences and sound tracks being shared and delivered through the network.
